DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

      The Department of History was established in 1885. It began with a meager` strength and at present the Department has taken the shape of sprawling tree. The great stalwarts belonging to the domain of History writings like Dr. Harnarayana Sinha, Dr. Deoras, Dr.P.L.Mishra, Dr. V.V.Mirashi were at the helm of the Department. Under their visionary leadership, the Department marched ahead by leaps and bounds as a prime centre of History learning. Apart from undergraduate courses, the Institute runs postgraduate courses also. History enjoys a significant position in the academic circle of our country.
